Finishes
Paint and Varnish
Nearly every project we perform here requires some form of finish work from low tech traditional paint and varnish to a perfectly faired AwlGrip® finish. Regardless what the topcoat is, all quality finish work begins with thorough preparation and ends with the proper application of sufficient topcoat material to provide the expected service life and appearance.

Whether your finish requirements include high-gloss varnish on your antique Chris Craft show boat or a faired AwlGrip® paint job to customize your white production boat, our paint shop can handle it. Click here to contact us for a quote.

What! Fiberglass?
That’s right. Finish work is one area where we don’t discriminate. We happily fair and paint virtually any paintable surface:
  • Wood
  • Fiberglass
  • Aluminum
  • Steel
  • What do you need painted?

Perfection?

Not all finish work is the same. High-tech, ultra-clear, hard urethanes would look like plastic on a restored 1950 runabout. A perfectly faired, high-gloss finish on a working fishing boat would look nice but is unnecessary, not to mention overly expensive. However, a perfectly faired, high-gloss finish on a sportfisherman or racing sailboat is perfectly appropriate. Our paint shop knows the difference and works to the highest standards, providing the right level of finish appropriate for the project and consistent with the budget.
